Gov Mead Proclaims April Child Abuse Prevention Month

Governor Matt Mead Proclaimed April Child Abuse Prevention Month in Wyoming, during a ceremony Wednesday at the State Capitol. Lynn Huyler, Board President for Child Advocacy Centers of Wyoming says child abuse continues to be a problem in Wyoming.

According to the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System report, in 2011 there were 718 child victims and 448 substantiated cases of child abuse and neglect in Wyoming. Governor Matt Mead says "it is not and cannot be a mere platitude that children represent our future."

Farm Credit Services Paying Dividends [AUDIO]

The State Loan and Investment Board has approved a $5 million dollar grant to help bring a proposed $112 million dollar data center to Cheyenne. Governor Matt Mead says he is willing to provide another $5 million in state money to land the center. Doug Randall reports.  Farm Credit Services of America says customer owners in Wyoming are receiving dividend checks totaling $13.8 million this month. Governor Mead Signs Wolf Bill

Governor Matt Mead signed the Wolf Management Bill into law Wednesday. The measure complies with an agreement the state and federal governments reached last year over how to end endangered species act protections for the animals. Governor Mead says it was team effort to get the bill passed. The state  wants to allow trophy hunting for wolves in a flexible zone around Yellowstone National Park beginning this fall.
