Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak says there will be a "zero tolerance" policy for underage alcohol consumption at Cheyenne Frontier Days events this year. The chief says any underage alcohol violators will not only be ticketed, but this year will also be immediately evicted from Frontier Park.

A new report from the state Division of Criminal Investigation shows a 20 percent decrease in serious crime for the first three months of 2012 compared to the same period in 2011, according to Police Chief Brian Kozak.

Cheyenne Police were called to Lincoln Park in south Cheyenne early Friday morning regarding a large fight in the area.

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Sgt. Rob Dafoe says at approximately 3:45 am, responding officers detained the occupants of a vehicle leaving the area.

Kozak Warns Cell Phone-Using Motorists

Cheyenne Police Chief Brian Kozak warned motorists who violate  the city's cell-phone ordinance Tuesday that they will be ticketed. At a news conference involving the Cheyenne Police Department as well as Wyoming Highway Patrol and Laramie County Sheriff's Department in regard to the ''May Mobilization'' crackdown on motorists not wearing seat belts, the chief produced a cell phone from his pocket and told the audience "this thing is a killer".

Off-Duty Officer Thwarts Robber’s Escape

Cheyenne Police were called to the Cheyenne Target store at 1708 Dell Range on Sunday afternoon on a report of a shoplifter who had threatened  a store employee with a knife, according to a press release from the Cheyenne Police Department. Police say when they arrived on the scene they found the man, 28 year old Dustin Gebhardt  of  Cheyenne, had pulled a knife on an employee who confronted him about shoplifting in the store.

Special Olympics Torch Carried to Capitol Building

The Cheyenne Police Department, Laramie County Sheriff's Department and the Wyoming Highway Patrol took part in the Cheyenne leg of the Law Enforcement Torch Run  for Special Olympics Thursday morning, with a runner bearing the torch through several downtown Cheyenne streets, accompanied by a group of runners and led by vehicles from local law enforcement agencies.
