Cheyenne Light Warns Customers of Phone Scam

Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power is warning customers of a nationwide scam that wrongly claims President Barack Obama is providing credits or applying payments to utility bills. The scammers have phoned customers or contacted them in person, posted fliers and used social media and text messages to perpetuate the scam.

Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power Announces Rate Increases

Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power customers will pay a little more for electricity and gas effective July 1.

The utility announced on Wednesday that the Wyoming Public Service Commissi0n had approved the increases, which the utility says is needed to pay for infrastructure improvements.

Cheyenne Light Adds Electric Cars To Fleet

Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power has begun a pilot project which includes integrating two Chevrolet Volt electric vehicles into its fleet.

Donna Beaman, Manager of Energy Services for Cheyenne Light,  says by including the vehicles in the fleet, Cheyenne Light will better be able to understand first-hand what customers will experience and begin planning now for the electricity needs of customers.

Cheyenne Light Says Call Before You Dig

April is National Safe Digging Month, and Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power is reminding customers to call 811 before digging. Cheyenne Light spokesman John Sieroki says One Call of Wyoming is the state's utility locating service that is provided free of charge.

The Wyoming Legislature passed the Wyoming Underground Facilities Notification Act in 2010. The law says everyone who excavates or disturbs the surface of the ground must first contact One Call of Wyoming. The law includes, but is not limited to,  contractors, homeowners and property owners.
