Cheyenne Light: Natural Gas Prices Likely to Be Flat This Winter

Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power’s natural gas prices this winter are expected to remain flat or slightly below 2011 prices overall. Last winter was warmer than normal across Cheyenne Light’s service territory. If weather is colder this winter than last, total heating bills could be higher than last winter if customers increase their usage. Besides price, usage is the other factor that determines overall natural gas utility bills, and weather is a key driver in how much natural gas customers use to heat their homes and businesses.

Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power has begun a pilot project which includes integrating two Chevrolet Volt electric vehicles into its fleet.

Donna Beaman, Manager of Energy Services for Cheyenne Light, says by including the vehicles in the fleet, Cheyenne Light will better be able to understand first-hand what customers will experience and begin planning now for the electricity needs of customers.

Cheyenne Light Says Call Before You Dig

April is National Safe Digging Month, and Cheyenne Light Fuel and Power is reminding customers to call 811 before digging. Cheyenne Light spokesman John Sieroki says One Call of Wyoming is the state's utility locating service that is provided free of charge.

The Wyoming Legislature passed the Wyoming Underground Facilities Notification Act in 2010. The law says everyone who excavates or disturbs the surface of the ground must first contact One Call of Wyoming. The law includes, but is not limited to, contractors, homeowners and property owners.
