According to historians, Arbor Day was first placed on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. It was from the vision of Julius Sterling Morton (1832-1902) who was a Nebraska journalist and politician originally from the state of Michigan.

Wyoming Celebrates 124th Arbor Day
Officials celebrated Wyoming's 124th State Arbor Day Monday with a tree planting ceremony on the north lawn of the Wyoming Supreme Court Building. Wyoming State Forester Bill Crapser says it's important to recognize the importance of trees in Wyoming. Crapser says  "you have to be serious about growing trees in this part of the world, but they are very important in our towns and our forests.
