Sweetwater County authorities are bracing for the possibility of more flooding along the Hams Fork and Blacks Fork rivers, according to the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell says the county has stockpiled 42,000 sand bags in Green River. Inmates from the Sheriff's Office Community Service Program will be available to fill the sandbags if needed.

The sheriff says a backhoe was used on Thursday to break up a large ice jam on the Hams Fork River. The jam was about a mile up from the confluence of the Hams Fork and Blacks Fork rivers. Authorities evacuated about 40 residents of a trailer park located near the confluence last weekend because of flooding.
