Investigators for Cheyenne Fire & Rescue say a Sunday afternoon fire that caused $150,000 in damage to a home was started accidentally.

No one was injured in the blaze at 3046 Dey Avenue, which was reported  at 5:13 p.m. and was put out in about half an hour. People living at the home and their pets were able to get out of the home safely.

Investigators say the fire was started by flammable materials being left too close to an operating cutting torch. Once the fire started it spread to cutting torch cylinders, which made the fire grow even more.

Besides the damage to the home where the fire happened, there was some smoke and heat damage to a couple of nearby homes. That damage is not included in the damage estimate cited by investigators.
