In a new study ranking the Best and Worst States For Teenage Drivers, Wyoming finished 50th.

It gets worse.

Wyoming has the highest percentage of teenage driving fatalities. Wyoming has the fourth highest percentage of teenage drunk driving arrests. Adults in Wyoming see the fifth highest average premium increase when they add a teenage driver to their insurance policy. Wyoming is also one of 15 states without a Graduated Driver-Licensing program.

Neighboring states didn't fare well in the study, either. South Dakota ranked 49th nationwide, with Montana, Missouri, and Nebraska rounding out the bottom five. Colorado had the highest ranking in the region, 22nd overall.

New York was ranked as the safest state for teen drivers, followed by Washington, Maryland, Illinois, and Delaware.
