Laramie County School District 1 Superintendent says Wyoming schools are  "very, very well funded". Stock says that while it's been three years since an external cost adjustment was calculated, the state 's schools are still the sixth-best funded of any state in the nation. Stock says the state's oil, gas and mineral extraction industries are critical to the state's tax base and "without them we would have almost nothing". Stock says state schools certainly have enough money to do a good job, which is why taxpayers are demanding results that justify the amount of money being spent on education.
