Laramie County School District #1 Superintendent Mark Stock says he thinks the 2014 session of the Wyoming Legislature was good for education in the state.

One important part of the budget bill locally was money for planning and design of the new Carey Junior High School building in Cheyenne. On the statewide level, he says lawmakers decision to give a raise to k-12 employees was positive, although the employees will lose some of their raise by having to pick up the cost of their retirement plans.

Overall Stock says that while education issues weren't at the forefront of the session, he thinks lawmakers made the right decision on most of the education issues they did deal with.
