Laramie County School District #1 Superintendent Mark Stock says the district faces an ongoing challenge over the next few years in dealing with increasing enrollment.

Stock says that while early registration figures aren't yet available for the 2013-2014 school year, he expects to see another increase. He says over the long-term the district continues to face the challenge of finding enough room for students.

He notes the new Prairie Wind Elementary School is  scheduled to open in 2015. He says the district is hoping to open a total of three new schools in the next 2-3 years. Stock says the district has been given permission to begin planning a new 5/6 grade school in the east triad.

But he says overall it will remain a challenge over the next few years to build new schools fast enough to meet the growing number of students enrolled in the district.
