Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen says one of the biggest challenges faced by local business is finding enough well trained, competent employees.

Steenbergen says the issue was especially highlighted during Cheyenne Frontier Days 2014, when many businesses told him they couldn't find enough good employees to deal with the increased business that comes with CFD. Steenbergen says more needs to be done in terms of housing for younger professionals. He also says the local education system needs to focus on teaching the job skills needed by local employers.

Steenbergen says the third part of the solution is to make sure Cheyenne is a "city of choice for people to live, work and do business."

He adds that there is an upside to the problem, because it shows the local economy is growing and creating jobs.
