The State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) Thursday approved a $500,000 dollar Community Enhancement grant to fund phase one of the Platte River Revival Project.Liz Becher, Community Development Director for the City of Casper, says she believes the grant is a great first step. She says this grant will allow them to" find other private sector funding, recognizing that the state support really means a lot to private foundations and private donations."

Becher says the project is a restoration project for 13.5 miles of the North Platte River and its banks that traverse Casper. She says they will be doing it in stages. Phase one involves restoration of the river banks and in-rive in the Morad Park area.
