Carriers in Casper and across Wyoming will be participating in the 23rd Annual Stamp out Hunger food drive. This is the Nations largest one day food drive. Casper collected 44,000 pounds of food in 2014. State wide letter carriers collected almost 128,000lbs. of food. On this one day in America Letter Carriers collected over 70 billion pounds of food for the hungry in their communities.

The food drive is so successful because it is so easy for anyone to participate. Letter Carriers deliver post cards and bags in the days leading up to the drive. Saturday, May 9th residents simply place non-perishable food in the recyclable bags provided by their mailbox early morning before you head out to enjoy your day and the Letter Carriers and their helpers (girl scouts and volunteers) will pickup the food and distribute to local food banks in their communities. ALL FOOD COLLECTED STAYS IN THE COMMUNITY IT IS COLLECTED IN!

Letter Carriers in Laramie, Cheyenne, Wheatland, Torrington, Douglas, Casper, Rawlins, Gillette, Thermopolis, Riverton, Lander, Newcastle, Story, Cody, Powell, Kemmerer, Green River, Evanston, Rock Springs will be participating.

What types of food to donate? We ask that you check expiration dates and anything non-perishable...canned goods, peanut butter, canned meats, fruits, vegetables, pastas, cereals...anything to make meals.

I am going to be out of town how can I help? My carrier did not pick up my food! Drop off food at any post office or food bank. Carriers will also pickup donations for a few days following the food drive. Call Rene 307-321-2508.

Why is the food drive in May? Food donations from holidays are gone.Kids are getting out of school and families need the additional help. The elderly are continually facing the difficult choice of buying food or medicine.
