HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut State Police are having trouble identifying a man who wounded two passengers on a casino-bound bus on Interstate 95 before a trooper shot him to death.

State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance says the suspect, a man believed to be in his 30s, wasn't carrying identification

Authorities say the man wounded two passengers on the bus from New York City to the Mohegan Sun casino Tuesday night.

Vance says Trooper Marc O'Mara was forced to open fire when the suspect came at him with a box cutter on the highway in Norwalk. Police say O'Mara also accidentally shot a bus passenger who was wounded in a struggle with the suspect.

Police say the wounded passengers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

O'Mara is on administrative duty under state police policy.
