CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Looks like Liz Cheney is bringing in big money already.

Cheney announced Tuesday she's raised just over $1 million in her bid to unseat Republican Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming next year.

Enzi's campaign, meanwhile, reported raising about $850,000 over the quarter and having $1.2 million on hand.

Cheney launched her campaign in July. Third-quarter fundraising reports were due to the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday.

Neither fundraising figure could be independently verified. Most FEC employees have been furloughed and the FEC isn't updating its online records during the government shutdown.

Cheney says nearly 2,000 people have contributed to her campaign and donations have come from every Wyoming county and every state.

Enzi says he and his wife, Diana, are humbled by the "overwhelming support" they've received.
