We have reports that yet another hack is coming to an email box and that to our most precious and, sometimes, vulnerable among us: Social Security Recipients.

It has been reported that the recipients of Social Security are now getting emails from hackers that are pretending to be from the SSA - Social Security Administration.

When they receive the email, they are reading that the government is offering to protect their personal information, however, it is anything BUT that and the emails are NOT from the federal government.

The subject line reads "Get Protected" as noted by the Federal Trade Commission. Certain statements in the text of the email are said to have shown the Safe Act of 2015, to add a bit more legitimacy to the email. It is not legitimate.

So if you or someone you know clicks on that link, it is supposed to take you to a SSA site, but instead down loads a keylogger virus, which downloads itself to your computer, thus allowing the hackers to access your personal information.

Basically, the email is doing the opposite of what they purport to do. This is a cheap scam which takes advantage of our disabled and elderly and is unthinkable. However, you can consider yourself warned.
