Last week, a controversial billboard in the city of Wyoming, Michigan, made national headlines. Turns out, it's the not the only city named after our great state. In fact, there are six different towns named Wyoming across the country.

1. Wyoming, Michigan - With a population of 72,125, this suburb of Grand Rapids has more people than any city in the state of Wyoming.

2. Wyoming, New York - Wyoming isn't just the name of this western New York town, it's also the name of the county. Located in between Rochester and Buffalo, this tiny town has a population of 513.

3. Wyoming, West Virginia - There is also a Wyoming County in southern West Virginia. The unincorporated town of Wyoming is the home of former NFL running back Curt Warner.

4. Wyoming, Pennsylvania - This Wyoming is located in the northern part of the state, between the cities of Wilkes Barre and Scranton. With a population of 28.276, it is the second largest of the towns named after our state.

5. Wyoming, Illinois - This small town, with a population of 1,429, is in central Illinois, about 100 miles southwest of Chicago.

6. Wyoming, Iowa - Another 120 miles west of Wyoming, Illinois, lies the small town of Wyoming, Iowa. Located in the eastern part of the state, between Cedar Rapids and Davenport, you could literally drive from Wyoming to Wyoming is less than two hours.
