BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A search is under way for one or two people who may be missing after they fell out of a raft on Friday on the Yellowstone River.

Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder says he does not know how many people are missing because witnesses are unclear who made it out of the river after a raft carrying five people dumped them into fast-moving water.

According to the Billings Gazette , three of the rafters made it to shore. Witnesses say another man may have been able to climb out of the water and walk away.

Authorities were called about 8:30 Friday night by a man who reported a woman was having trouble breathing after falling into the river.
