JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — A skier is missing in Grand Teton National Park after leaving the boundaries of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort earlier this week.

Jenny Lake District Ranger Scott Guenther says the man left the resort boundaries on Monday with a friend and is believed to be somewhere in Granite Canyon. The other man was able to return to the resort early Tuesday.

High winds and avalanche danger hampered search efforts on Tuesday. Rangers and a Teton County Search and Rescue helicopter planned to resume the search Wednesday.

The resort didn't open its lifts Tuesday due to the weather.

Officials have not released the name of the missing man.
