The 17th annual Cheyenne Safe Kids Day is scheduled for May 3 at the Cheyenne Family YMCA and Holliday Park.

Safe Kids Day Coordinator Victoria Ingerle says 29 booths pertaining to child health and safety will be available, ranging from the YMCA to Cheyenne Fire and Rescue.

The annual Safe Kids car seat check-up will be offered in Holliday Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. as well. The check-up is free and features certified technicians checking the installation of the seats. Experts believe around 80 percent of the seats in Laramie County are improperly installed. The checks will be free, although contributions will be expected for any seats which are given out.
