Hey, moms and dads! Summer time is right around the corner and we all know that being a child entails falling, slipping and banging a head or a knee now and then. It's all apart of growing up, right? As a parent, we can typically handle those types of injuries to our children. But we all want to help them avoid the more serious ones, which can be permanent or result in death.

The Cheyenne YMCA and more than 30 community exhibitors invite you to Safe Kids Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Cheyenne YMCA (located at 1426 E. Lincolnway). This will be any parent's go-to source for safety information in the Capitol City.

Safe Kids Day coordinator Victoria Ingerle has organized all of the information in many different ways to gather information and resources to help prevent your child from accidents, including car seats, lakes and streams, domestic life, ranch life, and much, much more.

Safe Kids Day has partnered with many organizations, including the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Cheyenne Police Department, and Laramie Country Fire District #2 to help inform and instruct about child safety. There will be light snacks for all participants while supplies last.
