Visit Cheyenne C-E-O Darren Rudloff says a slight drop in Cheyenne Frontier Days attendance in 2012 compared to the record-setting year CFD had last year apparently didn't mean less spending in Cheyenne-area businesses. Rudloff says conversations he's had with motel owners and other businesses shows a majority apparently made more money this year than in 2011. Rudloff says one pattern that seems to be emerging is that people were willing to spend a little more money on average than in 2011. Although hard numbers on local spending won't be available for some time, Rudloff says the bottom line is that a roughly 5 percent drop in CFD attendance this year was more than offset by the fact people were more willing to spend money, providing a strong boost to most businesses he's spoken with.
