Rollover Kills Driver Near Wright

A single vehicle rollover crash on Sunday led to the death of 22 year old Derrick L. Simmons of Wright, Wyoming. The crash happened at about 6:00 a.m. on WY 59 five miles north of Wright.

Mr. Simmons was traveling south in a pickup when he crossed the centerline and left the highway to the east. After veering off the roadway, the passenger side rear tire separated from the axle as the truck went through the right-of-way fence. Once through the fence, it tripped and rolled. During the rollover, Simmons was ejected from the truck as he was not wearing his seat belt.

Mr. Simmons died at the scene. Speed, impairment and distracted driving are being investigated at this time as contributing factors in this crash.
