Rock Springs Gun Threat Being Investigated

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell is asking for information on a July 4th incident near Rock Springs.

A release from the sheriff's office says deputies were sent to an area just east of the city on a report of a man with a gun allegedly threatening a group of people. According to a caller, the man pointed his weapon at a group of young men, telling them to "get on the ground."

He is described as a 20 to 25 -year-old man wearing a red ball cap and a red shirt. he was reportedly driving an older blue SUV. The man left the area before deputies could get there.
