Investigators with the Riverton Police Department are looking into the deaths of two men from this past weekend.

Lt. Wes Romero said Tuesday morning that the deaths are being treated as suspicious for the time being. That doesn't necessarily mean police have specific evidence pointing to foul play; rather, Romero says, autopsy results have not yet been returned, so foul play has not been ruled out.

According to a news release from Chief Eric Murphy, a 34-year-old man from Riverton died in Denver, after being taken by life flight from Riverton.

Romero says officers responded to that call at 12:25 a.m. Saturday after a homeowner called police and said he had found the man in his front yard.

Officers arrived to find the unknown man in distress. He was taken to Sage West Hospital, and from there was flown to Denver.

Murphy says investigators are conducting interviews and trying to determine the path the man took to end up in the homeowner's front yard. The case is ongoing.

The second death involved a 52-year-old Riverton man who was found dead and reported to police at 9 a.m. Sunday.

Murphy says the frigid weather was likely "a major cause of death," and Romero specified that the man may have died of hypothermia.

Further details have not been released, as investigators continue to work both cases.
