RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - The Riverton City Council is refusing to support the legalization of medical marijuana in Wyoming because of marijuana's effect on young people.

City administrator Steven Weaver says the decision should be left to voters, if they can get it on the ballot.

About 25,000 signatures are needed by February 8.

City officials say marijuana use among young people is a serious issue and a major health expense.
