The City of Cheyenne Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the grand opening of the newly renovated Holliday Park basketball court Tuesday evening. Assistant parks and rec director Todd Feezer says the renovations were made possible in part through a $20, thousand grant from the Sprite soft drink company through it's Spark Parks Project. Feezer said an anonymous person nominated Holliday Park for the grant. Feezer says the city chipped in $20 thousand in fifth penny sales tax money, while Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power helped out by contributing a state-of-the-art  LED (light emitting diode) recreational lighting system. City parks and rec director Rick Parrish says the Holliday Park basketball courts are the oldest and most heavily used basketball courts in the city.
