For the leading edge of holiday travel, in Cheyenne, the winds are SSW at 10mph, a lot tamer than other parts of The Cowboy State were yesterday, when the wind was gusting up to 80mph near Cody.

Here in SE Wyoming, the strong winds are starting to lay down for your early morning commute, but there are some strong wind advisories as well as no light or empty travel on several stretches, including:

I-80

I-80 dry with dangerous strong winds, and extreme rollover risks between Laramie and Cheyenne, with no light or empty trailer travel advisories in effect. This stretch is CLOSED to light and high profile vehicles!

A few wind gusts with dry conditions on I-80 from Cheyenne east into Pine Bluffs and to the Nebraska State Line.

I-25  is dry with dangerous strong winds, and extreme rollover risks between Cheyenne and Wheatland, with no light or empty trailer travel advisories in effect. This stretch is CLOSED to light and high profile vehicles!  Then a dry stretch of I-25 further north into Douglas and into Casper.

Hwy 85 is dry between Cheyenne and the Colorado state line, and between Cheyenne and Meriden

Hwy 287 is dry with strong winds between Laramie and the Colorado state line!

The high winds should start to subside about mid-morning.
