JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming lawmakers will consider allowing the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission to create restrictions to stop people from gathering shed antlers in parts of the state east of the Continental Divide.

Members of the Joint Travel, Recreation, Wildlife and Cultural Resources Interim Committee told staff on Monday to draft a bill granting the commission such authority.

Currently antler hunting is prohibited from Oct. 1 to April 30 each year west of the divide in hopes of preventing humans from harassing wildlife.

Antler hunters can make big bucks selling their finds to people who use them to make art.

The committee will decide at its next meeting whether to sponsor the draft bill in the 2016 legislative session.
