The Wyoming Highway Patrol seized 63 pounds of marijuana after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near Laramie on Thursday, Oct. 26.

A Wyoming State Trooper stopped a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-80 for swerving out of its lane of travel several times near milepost 290, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says. During the stop, the trooper became suspicious that the driver and two passengers in the car were involved in some kind of criminal activity.

After getting consent from the driver to search the car, the trooper found 63 pounds of marijuana, the street value of which is estimated to be about $126,000. The trooper discovered the marijuana was being delivered from California to Tennessee.

Vickey Hamilton, 41, Lorenzo Hamilton, 21 and Champainge Rucker, 18, all from Nashville, Tennessee, were arrested with assistance from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and felony intent to deliver a controlled substance.

According to the Albany County Detention Center, both Vickey and Lorenzo Hamilton are still incarcerated at the Albany County Detention Center. The Detention Center said charges against Rucker were dismissed and she was released.
