A group of protesters gathered at the Cheyenne Animal Shelter on Saturday morning, calling for the resignation of Cheyenne Animal Shelter President and CEO Bob Fecht.

The controversy stems from allegations of abuse of an 8-month-old pit bull mix named Tanner.

The dog allegedly bit a shelter employee. Fecht ordered the dog to be pepper sprayed the day after the incident. Among those calling for Fecht's removal on Saturday was Cheyenne Mayor Marian Orr. However, the mayor also said the city has no direct way of forcing his removal. While the shelter does receive city funding, it is not a city agency.

Tanner was later euthanized. So what is your opinion on the situation?

We'll publish the results of our poll later this week.
