A spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department says that Cheyenne Frontier Days 2012 appears to be going well so far from a law enforcement viewpoint.

Sgt. Rob Dafoe says for the most part traffic has been flowing smoothly around Frontier Park and other heavily traveled areas of the city. Dafoe credited both residents and visitors to the community with obeying traffic laws for the most part. Dafoe also says that although hard numbers on arrests for the week so far are not yet available, it appears there has been relatively little serious criminal activity aside from a shooting incident early Monday that hospitalized a 17 year old male. Dafoe says the investigation into that incident is ongoing.
