It was a privilege to have poet and Wyoming Native American Darrah Perez on KGAB Mornings recently. She has a way of putting her experiences into poetry.

It's pretty obvious that Darrah's grandfather had a big influence on her life and on the lives of others. Darrah has creatively written about her grandfather in a poem that she wrote.

Darrah Perez is a Native of the Wind River Indian Reservation and often writes highlighting and honoring her tribal spirituality and Native American community. She is also author of two books: "It Always Happens" and "It Never Happened."

Below is a video, which depicts her life on the reservation and the grandfather that influenced her life. She has a way of capturing his life in her writings and in this video.

I'm sure we can all relate to Darrah with the experiences of our own grandfathers. You'll, no doubt, find similarities with your own experiences, as Darrah shares hers.
