A two vehicle crash on November 25th resulted in the death of 61 year old Terry E. Lowen of Pinedale, Wyoming. The crash happened at 5:35 p.m. on US 191 approximately two miles north of Pinedale.

Mr. Lowen was travelling north in a passenger car when he lost control of the vehicle on icy roads after passing a snowplow. After the loss of control, the car began to "fishtail" ultimately slid into the southbound lane into the path of a southbound pickup truck driven by 38 year old Rhett Thorburn of Wilson, Wyoming. Mr. Thorburn tried to stop, but couldn’t on the icy road. The two vehicles collided.

Mr. Lowen was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, but was still fatally injured. Mr. Thorburn and his passenger, 47 year old Lisa Braley, also from Wilson, were both taken to the Pinedale Clinic where they were treated and released. Both Mr. Thorburn and Lisa Braley were wearing their seat belts.

The crash did cause the temporary closure of the highway. Weather conditions are being considered as the main contributing factor in this crash.
