A 24-year-old Florida man is facing felony drug charges after a search of his vehicle turned up over 30 pounds of marijuana, according to Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell.

The sheriff says a Sheriff's Office K9 unit was on routine patrol on Interstate 80 west of Green River when the deputy saw an eastbound Toyota Camry following too closely behind a semi tractor-trailer rig.

The deputy pulled over the Camry and identified the driver as 24-year-old Micheal J. Ramirez Torrens of Jacksonville, Florida. The deputy searched the vehicle after noticing what he said was the strong odor of marijuana.

The search turned up 30.6 pounds of pot in vacuum-sealed bags. Ramirez-Torrens was charged with felony grade possession fo a controlled substance and manufacture of a controlled substance.

He was released on Friday after posting a $20,000 cash or surety bond.
