Cheyenne Mayor-Elect Marian Orr announced on Thursday her resignation from the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees.

Orr was elected as the city's next mayor on Tuesday. She took a leave of absence from the board after winning the primary election in August. In her letter to the CRMC board and the Laramie County Commission, Orr said she would miss working with the trustees.

“I do so [resign] with mixed emotions,” she wrote. “I have truly enjoyed my tenure on the board, working with each member and department official, and the strategic planning process that I believe will serve the community well into the future.  I will miss that work.  I am looking forward to the new challenge ahead, and certainly our paths will cross again.”

Appointments to the seven-member CRMC Board are made by the Laramie county Commission. Board members serve for five year terms.
