One person died Tuesday afternoon in a two vehicle crash on I-25 about four miles south of Cheyenne. Wyoming Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Steve Townsend says the accident occurred shortly after 4 p.m.. The driver of a pickup truck was driving southbound in the northbound lane and collided head on with a tractor trailer. The driver of the pickup truck was declared dead at the scene, the driver of the tractor trailer was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. The crash remains under investigation.

Townsend says the identity of the driver of the pickup truck remains unknown at this time, while the tractor-trailer driver has been identified as 44 year old Francis Socek of Randolph, New Jersey. Townsend says investigators still don't know exactly what caused the collision to occur. He says I-25 was closed for about 2 hours following the crash.
