An Oklahoma man faces federal federal charges following an online threat that prompted a brief lockdown of Casper-area schools Monday.

The FBI arrested 34-year old Glenn Kirkham of Oklahoma City Monday afternoon, January 14th and charged him with making a threatening post on an Internet-based bulletin

Casper Police Chief Chris Walsh says the suspect had a purpose in his threat, but it's unknown why Casper was the target.

"It appeared that through the body of the blog content, that it was to demonstrate assault weapons were not as bad as they've been portrayed and that with primitive weapons, he could still make a big impact. Also indicated that he was willing to give his life in that cause, to prove his point."

Chief Walsh says calls from concerned citizens came into the dispatch center from Arizona to Maryland regarding the online threat.
