SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — The harsh words being exchanged between Washington and Moscow over Ukraine have brought renewed attention to the testy relationship between President Barack Obama and Russia's Vladimir Putin.

At a recent news conference, Putin was asked whether he thought Obama would save him if he were drowning. Putin said he was sure that Obama would.

Obama was asked today at a news conference in Seoul to confirm that. He joked that as a strong swimmer who grew up in Hawaii, he'd like to think he'd save anybody.

He said, "I absolutely would save Mr. Putin if he were drowning."
