Officials say Wyoming’s water supply remains well above average despite somewhat limited precipitation during the month of May.

Hydrologists with the National Weather Service in Riverton say the state saw precipitation levels at 83 to 88 percent of average for May, but the precipitation average for the entire year remains between 115 and 125 percent.

Mountain snowpack is holding near 140 to 180 percent, with some areas in central Wyoming holding near 190 percent.

Streamflow volumes also remain near 110 and 130, with well above normal streamflows near 140 and 160 percent expected for the Powder, Toungue and Shoshone watersheds into the start of summer.

Compared with May figures, reservoir levels for June have increased a couple of percentage points to 102 percent.
