WYDOT is building a new type of interchange at College Drive and I-25. The Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) project which was delayed for several weeks because of the snow storms that hit Cheyenne this spiring, is scheduled to be completed this fall. WYDOT Resident Engineer Wayne Shenefelt says Interchange will be the first of its kind in the state of Wyoming. Shenefelt says they plan to have the project paved in time for Cheyenne Frontier Days, during which it will be opened to unrestricted traffic. After  Frontier Days, they will divert traffic to one side and start putting in the islands and median barriers which will create the new traffic flow.
