Last week’s bank robbery in Casper, led to the capture of a suspect, but the search for the money continues.

Investigators say last Wednesday morning July 11th, 42-year-old Branden Bayne of Oregon, entered the Bank of the West on the corner of Wyoming Boulevard and Gannett Street in Casper and demanded money.

He claimed to have a gun, although witnesses say a weapon was never shown.

Bayne left the bank with almost $4,000 in cash, and was captured about an hour later in Douglas, after police there were able to identify him and his car based on descriptions given to them, but they were unable to find the money.

Bayne is facing one federal charge of bank robbery and could face up to twenty years in prison if convicted.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Cheyenne on Wednesday, July 18th.
