(Jon Green/TSM)

The Cheyenne Police Department held a block captain’s meeting Thursday night for residents wanting to host a ”Neighborhood Night Out’ block Party.

Police spokesman officer Dan Long says the meeting went well and details for this year’s event are shaping up well. Long says it’s not to late for anyone interested to sign up as a block captain, adding the can do so by calling him at 637-6583. Long says people have until July 1 to sign up, adding there are no special qualifications, but hosts will need to obtain a city noise permit.

This year’s block party is slated  for Tuesday, July 9.
