Did you know that quarter in your pocket has corn on it?

The first 2015 America The Beautiful quarter has Nebraska's Homestead National Monument on it and features a cabin, a water pump and two ears of corn.

You never know what you might find on your change these days. Since 2010, the U.S. Mints have been honoring America's National Parks, Monuments and Historic Sites. The quarter series began with Hot Springs National Park in Alabama followed by Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.

The latest quarter, the 26th in the series, features Homestead National Monument in Nebraska. The design represents the three fundamentals of survival common to all homesteaders: food, shelter, and water. (hence the corn, cabin and water pump)

Have you ever been there? That's what's great about all the series of collectable quarters over the years is learning about locations right around your area from the coins in your pocket.

The next quarter coming out honors Louisiana's Kisatchie National Forest. The America The Beautiful quarter series runs through 2021.
