Nebraska Corrections Officer Dead After Being Strangled by An Inmate From Wyoming

A western Nebraska jail corrections officer has been declared brain dead after authorities say she was attacked and strangled by a teenage inmate from Wyoming. Authorities say 24-year-old officer Amanda Baker was strangled at the Scottsbluff County Detention Center early Friday by a 15-year-old inmate. The teen from Torrington has been arrested on suspicion of attempted first degree murder.
