Connie Bryant, of Casper, pleaded guilty of fraudulently billing Wyoming Medicaid. Christine Stickley, Director of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Wyoming Attorney General's Office, says from about August of 2010 to August of 2011 Bryant billed Wyoming Medicaid certifying that she provided long term care waiver services to her disabled daughter that she in fact did not.

Stickley says the Long Term Care Waiver offers an option for individuals who need nursing home level of care but wish to remain in their home and receive specialized services that could delay or prevent admission to a nursing home.

Bryant pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obtaining property by false pretenses and agreed to repay the Wyoming Medicaid program $4,407.59. Stickley says Medicaid provides medical care for many of the most vulnerable segments of Wyoming's residents. She adds every dollar they can return to Wyoming's Medicaid program protects the system and benefits the neediest and most vulnerable Wyoming residents.

Stickley says the case was investigated by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Attorney General's Office with the assistance of Wyoming Medicaid, part of the Wyoming Department of Health, and prosecuted by the Natrona County District Attorney's Office.
