The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning about hail, heavy rain and strong thunderstorms in eastern Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle on Tuesday, July 17.

The service has issued this statement:

"July 17th Morning Update: A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the western Nebraska panhandle starting at 6 PM late this afternoon. Very heavy rainfall fell over this area last night with rainfall amounts up to 3 inches. With saturated soils already in place, it will not take much rainfall to create additional flooding concerns. There is also a risk for strong to marginally severe thunderstorms across most of southeast Wyoming and all of western Nebraska this afternoon through tonight. Strong gusty winds, very heavy rainfall, and hail are the main threats from thunderstorms today."
