UPDATE: Game and Fish says the lion may still be in the area as it apparently killed a deer. They are searching and will be setting a trap for the animal.

===========================================================

As much as we often talk about bear encounters, turkeys at Casper College, and dodging deer and elk around town, we sometimes forget that this is also mountain lion country.

A good reminder was found at the Paradise Valley golf course on Friday. Around mid-afternoon, a lion was spotted wandering around the course.

The club management called in game wardens from the Game and Fish Department, but the lion apparently disappeared to wherever he came from, probably Casper Mountain.

No one was hurt, and the visit was peaceful.

But, some advice for golfers in the future, let him play through.
