Motorcycle Chase Hits Speeds of 150 MPH Near Buffalo
Face it, leadfoot, you're not going to outrun the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
In the second high-speed chase this week, troopers arrested a Sheridan man after a pursuit reaching 150 mph near Buffalo on Wednesday, according to a news release
A trooper saw a black motorcycle speed 110 mph in an 80 mph zone just northbound of Kaycee on Interstate 25 at 2:40 p.m., according to the news release from Patrol Sgt. David Wagener.
The trooper began chasing the motorcycle, and its rider Joseph T. DeVries, 33, accelerated. As the trooper began to approach the motorcycle, DeVries accelerated. The trooper again caught up with him about 17 miles north of Kaycee, and DeVries again refused to stop.
Highway Patrol dispatch sent additional troopers as the chase reached speeds of 150 mph.
About 11 miles south of Buffalo, DeVries turned around in the median and began riding south on I-25. Three miles down the road, DeVries lost control of the motorcycle in a ditch west of the highway, and laid it down at a slow speed.
